take me as I am, a poetry pause

You try to deny

what you feel inside

in order to appease

those begging to be pleased.

But what about

the you living inside out?

Doesn’t it make sense

to live in your own confidence?

I will stand in all my glory

living all parts of my story

and all of me is needed,

my shadow won’t be mistreated.

Take me as I am

or don’t take me at all.
